Once
upon a time, in a faraway land they called Metchosin, there lived a little grey
haired old lady who tinkered with computers. Every day. In fact, it turned out
that she lived with lots of bits of bits and bytes.
It
started to worry her that soon she would forget how to do anything else. What
if one day she couldn't even tie her own shoes?
So
she bought shoes without laces - which worked out quite fine anyway because who
wears shoes with laces any more - but still....
She
decided to try her hand at doing something creative.
There
was pottery, but the kiln wouldn't fit in her apartment, and the heat from it
played havoc with her hot flashes.
There
was sculpting but those rocks are heavy!
And
painting apparently requires a little something called talent, which she
couldn't seem to locate, not even under the bed.
Eventually
she chose to play with paper, because it's light, and it doesn't take up so
much room, and the neighbors don't complain about the noise ( that brief dabble
with the bagpipes turned out to be less than a wise decision )
So
instead she makes the occasional greeting card just to stretch the creative
part of her brain.
And
now you've obviously got your hands on one, probably not by your own choice.
Life isn't always fair.
She
decided to tell her little story, which turned out to be long and boring.
Then
she tried to fit it on to the back of the card, but if she used a font that she
could read with her aging eyes she had to make the card HUGE to fit it all
onto, and then she couldn't fit it into an envelope (even when she tried
folding it into that 32 fold swan shape that she tried to follow from the
origami book. And that's a few hours she'll never get back....)
So
she decided to put the whole story into a document and create a QR code that linked
to it and put the QR code on to the back of the cards instead.
So
she sat down at her computer...................
